Universal characteristics of the soft transition to chaos through a two-frequency oscillation regime
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the transition to chaos through a two-dimensional torus in general atmosphere circulation and nonatonomous radio-frequency oscillator models. The global structure of the resonances, described by the Fairey tree, is demonstrated. The results of the study support the existence of universal characteristics of the spectral frequency component distribution at the critical point and fractal dimensionality of the ergodic beat regions.
