Deformation of a free liquid surface under the effect of light pressure. II - Experiment
Abstract
The deformation of a free liquid surface under the effect of the light pressure of a laser pulse is investigated experimentally. Experimental results are found to be in good agreement with theoretical calculations carried out for axisymmetric intensity distribution in the focal spot of a laser beam. Possible practical applications of the effect of the light-induced deformation of a free liquid surface are mentioned.
