Resonant transition radiation in boundary plasma layers
Abstract
A considerable enhancement of the resonant transition radiation is found in the sharply inhomogeneous layers of a nonlinear profile at the boundary of a supercritical plasma. The greatest intensity gain is obtained with nonrelativistic charges. In the relativistic region, the resonant radiation has a frequency angular spectrum which is qualitatively different from that of nonresonant radiation; its intensity may exceed that of the nonresonant radiation if the collisions are weak.
