Optimization of the sound-absorption lining parameters of an ejector jet muffler
Abstract
A method for the optimization of the parameters of a sound-absorption lining is described with reference to a simple ejector muffler using basalt fiber as the sound absorption material. It is shown that, in the frequency range investigated, optimum results are obtained with a 10-mm-thick basalt fiber layer. The additional reduction is sound level resulting from the lining optimization is 5-8 dB.
