Highresolution latticegas simulation of twodimensional turbulence
Abstract
The mechanisms of twodimensional turbulence are investigated by means of a very highresolution latticegas simulation. The results from the simulation are quantitatively compared with the direct integration of the NavierStokes equation. The dissipation of the flow simulated by the lattice gas is estimated by a simple scaling argument on the microscopic noisy field of the automaton.
