Model functions of Reynolds stress models
Abstract
A Reynolds stress (Restress) model for the prediction of shear flows is presented. Special attention is paid to the determination of the model functions. First, the general modeling assumptions are discussed and the modeling of the equations is then described in detail. It is shown that by successive analysis of different types of flows a set of model functions with a high level of universality can be deduced. Finally, prediction/measurement comparisons in homogeneous shear flows, round jets, plane jets, and wakes are presented.
