Alternating electric field enhancement of two-wave mixing gain in photorefractive BSO
Abstract
Efficient enhancement of the two-wave mixing gain in photorefractive Bi 12SiO 20 by applying ac-sinusoidal electric fields at 11 kHz is reported. At a wavelength of 514.5 nm, the achieved gains are much higher than that under dc fields and are comparable with that obtained by using the moving-grating technique. The new method is of practical significance due to its simplicity and improved output stability.
