Effect of heat release in singlet oxygen on the operation of a chemical oxygen-iodine laser
Abstract
The effect of heat release on singlet-oxygen quenching on singlet-oxygen transport in a chemical oxygen-iodine laser is calculated. It is shown that there is an optimal consumption of singlet oxygen that provides for the maximum energy content of the gas flow at the cavity input. The consumption depends significantly on heat release in the channel. Universal relationships are calculated which describe the optimal laser operation.
