Optimal impulse transfers between noncoplanar elliptical orbits
Abstract
An analysis is made of the three-dimensional problem involving the optimization of impulse transfer between fixed elliptical orbits in a central Newtonian field for free and fixed transfer times. Numerical results are presented concerning the effect of the transfer time and the boundary-orbit parameters on the optimal-maneuver characteristics.
