Stochastic simulation of the Boltzmann equation for the Lorentz gas
Abstract
We propose a stochastic simulation for solving the Boltzmann equation for the Lorentz gas and develop a formalism to rigorously show the equivalence between the simulation and the Boltzmann equation. We also propose several simple simulations which offer a substantial improvement over the Boltzmann equation and discuss the simulations in the context of repeated ring equations.
