Meteosat ranging concept
Abstract
A code ranging technique has been developed based on split-phase-level data formats. The operational hardwave to test the technique is described. The technique has a spectral density minimum near the carrier frequency, minimizing mutual interference with simultaneously transmitted signals. Also, the technique has a ranging accuracy of more than 3 dB. The code ranging system is proposed for use with Meteosat satellites. Other possible applications of the system are considered.
