Development and applications of near-field antenna measurement system. VIII - Diagnosis of antenna by near-field measurement
Abstract
This paper describes the method of diagnosing antennas by near-field measurements. The far-field pattern of the antenna is calculated by Fourier transform of planar near-field measurement data. The aperture distribution is calculated by inverse Fourier transform of the far-field pattern using the distance between the measured plane and the antenna. If the antenna does not operate normally, states of the antenna can be estimated and counterplans can be considered by diagnosing the aperture distribution. Experimental results of a microstrip array antenna are provided to verify the method.
