Features of antenna systems with electrical scanning for satellite communications
Abstract
The realization of electrical scanning in highly efficient antenna systems for satellite communications is examined. The example of the 12-m-diameter reflector antenna in the Intersputnik system is considered, and it is shown that the electrical scanner reduces by Q-factor of the system by only 0.05 dB and makes it possible to realize a system-factor exceeding 31.5 dB in the automatic tracking mode.
