Duplicity in the solar neighbourhood. V. Spectroscopic orbit for the nearby double-lined solar-type star HR 8581.
Abstract
The nearby solar-type star HR 8581 is found to be a double-lined spectroscopic binary with an orbital period of 632.5 days. The mass ratio of the two components is 0.55, with a blue magnitude difference of 2.5 mag, suggesting a model consisting of an F8V +K4V pair of stars. Speckle interferometric measurements are suggested to complete the determination of the elements and of the stellar masses.
