The nature of the most distant M 31 globular cluster candidate.
Abstract
The most distant M31 globular cluster candidate located at a projected distance of 116 kpc from the nucleus of the galaxy (Sargent et al., 1977) has been observed with the CCD camera at the Loiano 152cm telescope and with the IIDS at the KPNO 4m telescope. A careful quantitative analysis of the optical image of this object shows that it consists of two blended stars.
