The supernova 1982B in NGC 2268.
Abstract
The main results of the photographic and spectroscopic observations of the supernova 1982B in NGC 2268, carried out at Asiago during three months following discovery, are reported. The shape of the light and color curves together with the evolution of the spectral features, classify SN 1982B as belonging to the Ia subtype. An absolute magnitude at maximum M(B) = - 19.65 + 5 log(H/100) is derived, somewhat brighter than the average value for type I SNe.
