Comments on the precessing binary model of the BL Lac object OJ 287.
Abstract
Photographic photometry of OJ 287 images in blue light obtained during 1987 with the one 1 meter reflector of Northwestern's Lindheimer Astronomical Research Center are presented and discussed in the light of a model for OJ 287 proposed by Sillanpaa et al. which involves a precessing binary system of massive black holes and accretion disks.
