Structural relaxation in solids under impact loading
Abstract
Various processes of the structural relaxation of defects under impact loading are examined with reference to experimental data for V-Si and Nb-Al films. The relief features of periodic surface structures produced by short laser pulses are investigated experimentally. A study is also made of the effects associated with the sputtering of the film material, such as the formation of narrow bands of material due to pulsed energy input.
