Tunneling junctions and the field effect
Abstract
Tunneling junctions containing a semiconductor film are studied. The key role is played by the proximity effect. A particularly interesting situation arises in the presence of a high T sub c semiconductor. Its presence increases the sharpness of the field effect. The properties of the system Sc-S-N-S are discussed.
