Hydrodynamical characteristics of helium two-phase flows at relatively high mass rates
Abstract
A theoretical model is proposed for the pressure drop of channels through which the two-phase flow of helium with relatively high mass flow rates moves. With the help of this model the region of hydraulic crisis is predicted. Experimental results which are consistent with the theoretical model predictions are presented. It is shown that under certain conditions the hydrodynamical characteristics of helium two-phase flows and of steam-water ones are analogous and that the existence of some distinctions are caused by the difference in thermophysical properties of helium and water. The data obtained are compared with the results available in literature.
