The bowshock and magnetopause.
Abstract
The review of magnetopause research begins with global aspects of the boundary, with lessons learned from other planetary magnetopauses and discussion of merging geometries. Next the author takes up the issues of reconnection and energy transfer through the magnetopause, including viscous and surface wave phenomena. Finally, he discusses flux transfer events as a separate topic.
