External X-ray photoeffect in NEA cathodes
Abstract
Absolute values of quantum yields with respect to the external photoeffect current for NEA (negative electron affinity) cathodes based on Group III A-V A compounds are reported for different radiation grazing angles. The quantum yield is studied as a function of wavelength in the 0.5-2.5 A range and as a function of grazing angle in the 6-90 deg range. The mean depth and probability of electron escape are calculated from the experimental data.
