A nonstationary three-dimensional laminar boundary layer on blunted bodies with strong injection
Abstract
The flow of a compressible gas in a nonstationary three-dimensional laminar boundary layer on blunt bodies with a porous surface is investigated by asymptotic and numerical methods over a wide range of the principal flow parameters, including the case of strong injection. The accuracy and applicability limits of the asymptotic results are estimated by comparing them with the results obtained numerically. It is shown that the effect of the discontinuous nature of the temporal and spatial dependence of the boundary conditions is largely localized near the response points and discontinuity lines.
