Efficiency of plasma-dynamic lasers
Abstract
An analysis of the efficiency of plasma-dynamic lasers is carried out, and an upper bound is derived on the efficiency of plasma-dynamic lasers based on lithium-like ions. It is shown that the efficiency of plasma-dynamic lasers is limited in this case by the value 0.001 and that BIII is a lithium-like ion of the maximum multiplicity that is suitable for use as the active medium of a plasma-dynamic laser.
