Transient magnetic waves
Abstract
The book is concerned with electodynamic problems whose solution is reduced to a finite number of plane waves, with an arbitrary time dependence of the field vector components. An approach to the solution of problems of this kind is presented whereby the problem is analyzed directly in the context of its time statement without using the Fourier (Laplace) transform. The discussion covers electromagnetic waves in the case of a boundary moving with speed equal to, greater than, or less than the speed of light; transformation of electromagnetic signals with changes in the properties of the medium with time; and nonstationary fields in a moving medium.
