The features of the dispersion of powerful light pulses in fiber-optic waveguides
Abstract
The transmission of 40-ps pulses (lambda = 1064 nm) through lightguides is studied. A YAG:Nd passively mode-locked laser served as the source. A variation of the pulse dispersion is found which is a function of the power level and is attributed to self-focusing processes and the subsequent radiation conversion into the broadband continuum.
