Phase conjugation of the second harmonic of the emission of an atmosphere-probing YAG laser
Abstract
An experimental study is made of the propagation of the emission of a YAG laser which has been time-reversed and converted to the second harmonic. This emission is the reverse of the emission probing an inhomogeneous medium (static and dynamic model media and a turbulent atmosphere). Characteristics of the detected radiation, including angular spectrum and intensity fluctuation dispersion, are determined, and a comparison is made with the case of mirror reflection and phase conjugation without changes in optical frequency.
