Spectral theory and excitation of open structures
Abstract
Electrodynamic processes in open structures are investigated by the operator function method. In particular, attention is given to physical phenomena occurring in two-dimensional cylindrical structures with dielectric inclusions, such as open cavities, waveguide cavities, diffraction gratings, and open waveguides. A spectral theory for these structures is developed, and methods of their excitation are discussed. Efficient numerical algorithms for computing the electrodynamic characteristics of open structures are developed which are suitable for solving applied problems.
