Gain radiation characteristics of tapered X-band helical antennas
Abstract
Gain radiation and bandwidth characteristics of tapered axial-mode helix antennas with constant pitch angle, diameter and turn spacing, respectively are investigated experimentally in the 8.5-11.0 GHz, X-band frequencies. The characteristics of an improved modified taper structure are discussed which results in relative power gains between 15-17 dB in 8.5-11.0 GHz frequencies.
