Fibre-optic temperature sensor with wide temperature range characteristics
Abstract
In the paper a fiber-optic sensor which can be used to measure temperature continuously over the range 300-1100 K is described and its characteristic is reported. The measurement of the 'decay time' of fluorescence of Nd-doped glass and garnet is used as the means of determining temperature with a solid-state optoelectronic sensor system.
