Modelling the atomic nitrogen emission in the extreme ultraviolet spectral region.
Abstract
The paper describes a model for atomic-nitrogen luminescence in the far UV in the daytime midlatitude atmosphere. The model has been developed to study variations of this luminescence as a function of variations of latitude, time of day, season, and solar activity. The validity of the model is confirmed on experimental data. In particular, vertical profiles of integral intensity calculated with this model agree well with experimental data for wavelengths of 113.4, 120.0, and 149.3 nm.
