Space-time elasticity and fundamentals of electrodynamics and gravitational theory
Abstract
In the present four-dimensional description of an elastic medium, for which constructions in three-dimensional space statics are redefined, the equilibrium equations are defined by the variational principle of elastic potential extremum. Attention is given to the uniform, isotropic medium in Minkowskian space in the two asymptotic cases of (1) small deformations distributed in space, and (2) large deformations localized in small regions, whose state is characterized by their trajectories. These equations coincide with the laws of motion of material objects, abstracted from such concepts as material points and electric charge.
