Thick accretion disks : theory vs. observations.
Abstract
The authors briefly discuss the current state of research on geometrically thick accretion disks which are believed to form when the accretion rate is supercritical. They then review those galactic and extragalactic objects (SS433, QPO sources, active galactic nuclei) where supercritical accretion seems to occur, or for which thick accretion disks have been invoked to explain the observations.
