Liquid-crystal image converters - Parameters and functional properties
Abstract
The principle of operation of dynamic image converters using a liquid-crystal film as an electrooptic material is examined. It is noted that some of the performance characteristics of current liquid-crystal image converters, such as sensitivity, speed, and resolution, are the highest among instruments of this class. The high performance of liquid-crystal image converters makes them ideally suited for applications in state-of-the-art visualization and image processing systems.
