Algorithms for the Raman lidar detection of anomalous gas concentrations
Abstract
Simple suboptimal Bayes and Neumann-Pierson detection algorithms for Raman lidar are synthesized, and their efficiency is evaluated. The validity of the approximations used is verified through a closed-loop numerical experiment including interference and signal simulations for a range of lidar, optical atmospheric path, and gas parameters, as well as modeling of signal processing and decision making.
