Inverse problem of acoustic wave scattering by a thin-walled convex shell
Abstract
The paper is concerned with the remote determination of the dimensions of hollow convex shells from the high-frequency asymptotic behavior of the amplitude of plane acoustic wave scattering in a given direction that is close to the direction of backscattering. An algorithm for determining shell dimensions from the scattering characteristics in the wave region is proposed and illustrated for the case of a Duralumin shell.
