Abstract
The present conference on high-Tc ceramic superconductors considers the topics of their phase equilibria, their processing and fabrication, their properties and characterization, and the status of current theory concerning them. Attention is given to phase equilibria and crystal chemistry in the Ba-Y-Cu-O system, the properties of superconducting oxides prepared by the amorphous citrate process, rapid solidification of oxide superconductors in the Y-Ba-Cu-O system, problems in the production of YBa2Cu3O(x) superconducting wire, the thermal spraying and plasma spraying of ceramic superconductors, and superconducting oxide thin film production by ion beam sputtering. Also discussed are the processing and superconducting properties of perovskite oxides, the X-ray powder characterization of Ba2YCu3O(7-x), the fracture properties of polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O(x), a microstructural study of phases in the Y-Ba-Cu-O system, and the electronic structure of high-Tc oxide superconductors.
