Antarctic solid-Earth sciences research: A guide for the next decade and beyond
Abstract
After having examined major accomplishments in Antarctic science since the International Geophysical Year, and creating an outline of basic scientific research program needs for the remainder of the century (see earlier, 1983 report, Research Emphases for the U.S. Antarctic Program), the Board focused on considerations for developing a long-range scientific plan for the twenty-first century and beyond. The report is structured in outline form to briefly present major considerations about Antarctic science, on a discipline-by-discipline basis. Neither disciplines covered, nor individual objectives or goals are listed according to priority.
