Joint production of phi mesons and pi(+,-), pi(0), rho, rho bar, K(0)S and K(+,-) in hadronic interactions
Abstract
The joint production of phi mesons and pi(+,-) pi(0), rho, rho bar, K(0)S and K(+,-) was investigated using a sample of 600,000 inclusive phi meson events obtained in hadron Be interactions with incident pi(+,-), rho, rho bar, and K(+,-) beams. Evidence for the joint production of phi mesons and strange particles produced with nonstrange incident beams is presented. With incident K(+,-) beam the number of additional strange particles is supressed. The results are found to be in agreement with the qualitative predictions of a parton fusion model. The comparison with the Lund model for low pT processes is fair.
