The effect on the strength of initiation on the corner effect
Abstract
It is shown that a minimum radius of curvature for the change in direction of a detonation exists, even in high explosives that detonate well. The obedience of the detonation wave is particularly important in small charges whose size approaches that of the minimum radius of curvature, or when wave shapers are used. The test arrangement for studying these effects is described, and the effects of initiation are summarized.
