Texture analysis in synthetic aperture radar imagery
Abstract
Automatic analysis of texture in SAR imagery using the spatial gray level dependency matrix (SGLDM) technique is described. The identification of textured segments within an image, including the expected variation of the SGLDM measures in the presence of speckle, and the characterization of that texture are considered. Results which show that textured segments of SAR 580 imagery can be identified and characterized using the SGLDM technique are presented.
