Expendable launch vehicles as a complement to the Space Shuttle
Abstract
The use of expendable launch vehicles (ELVs) to launch commercial satellites is examined. The payload overflow which will result from the 12-24 month delay in the launching of the Space Shuttle is discussed. The capabilities and production of ELVs to launch commercial satellites into geotransfer orbit are described.
