Design techniques for very wide input range power converters
Abstract
The design of circuits and choice of circuit components to cope with very wide input ranges into power converters is discussed. The techniques shown can produce a power supply with a very large dynamic range and with high performance. The input is not limited to high impedance sources, but may also be more normal voltage sources. A power supply constructed using these techniques for powering a digital engine control on a turbofan jet aircraft is briefly described.
