Potential bulk waves in magnetoactive plasma waveguides
Abstract
The paper is concerned with the effect of a finite magnetic field and of the waveguide radius on the dispersion properties of axially symmetric and nonsymmetric potential bulk waves with azimuthal numbers m = + or - 1. The conditions of the excitation of the waves by an electron beam under Cerenkov resonance are analyzed. Methods are proposed for obtaining single-mode wave generation in a plasma waveguide and for increasing the efficiency of the beam-plasma interaction.
