Two-dimensional MHD-turbulence: Hierarchical model
Abstract
A hierarchical model of tho dimensional MHD turbulence is proposed which makes it possible to investigate cascade processes over a wide range of wave numbers. The degeneration of MHD turbulence, the behavior of weak magnetic fields under conditions of strong hyrodynamic turbulence, and the developed forced MHD turbulence with various methods of energy input are discussed. The model predictions support some earlier findings concerning the behavior of two dimensional MHD turbulence. It is shown that the established spectral distributions are strongly dependent on the initial conditions and on the method of energy input.
