Investigation of methods for solving the self-consistent problem in O-type devices with a periodic structure
Abstract
Consideration is given to methods for solving the self-consistent boundary value problem concerning the interaction between the electron beam and the periodic-structure field in O-type traveling wave tubes. The possibility of solving this problem by a transition from the linear to the nonlinear operating mode is examined. An effective method for solving the problem is developed which possesses convergence in all the operating modes of the device irrespective of the nearness to the boundary frequency of the slow-wave structure.
