The resonant attenuation of microwave power in a semiinfinite waveguide containing an inductive post with a gap
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results are presented concerning the frequency dependence of the power attenuation coefficient in a waveguide system including an inductive post with a gap and a short-circuit plunger. It is shown that the observed resonant power attenuation in the waveguide can be explained by the interaction between the post and the plunger at both the fundamental and higher H30 and H12 modes. A method is proposed for calculating the active impedance component of the post associated with the higher modes.
