Calculation of electromagnetic-wave attenuation in a screened helical line
Abstract
The propagation of a slow axisymmetric wave is calculated for a screened helical line of the type used in traveling wave tubes. The attenuation coefficient is found to increase sharply as the distance between the screen and the helical line decreases. Numerical results are presented for an excitation wavelength of 10 cm.
