The approximation of an anisotropically conducting disk in the problem of radiation planar from a finite spiral (The symmetric-wave regime)
Abstract
The problem of the symmetric excitation of a helically conducting finite disk is solved; the current distribution is found and radiation fields in the far zone are calculated. The present results are compared with published data used to approximate an infinite helically conducting plane. It is concluded that the present model, as it accounts for spiral edge effects, can adequately explain the radiation characteristics of planar log-spiral antennas in the symmetric-wave regime.
