Corrections to Mie coefficients for a homogeneous isotropic aspherical scatterer
Abstract
A boundary perturbation technique is used to generalize the Mie solution to the problem of electromagnetic scattering, taking into account all the functions defining the shape and orientation of a deformed Mie scatterer. The Mie solution extended to include the case of the arbitrary spatial structure of a time-harmonic incident field is taken as the zeroth-order approximation. General formulas for corrections to the Mie coefficients are presented.
